I have my own craft room/office and I needed some extra storage so a couple of weeks ago Boo helped me build a small shelf to put my circuit and printer on.

It isn't but 28 inches tall but it does what I need it to do. Now I am trying to talk Boo into making me some big bookshelves I have a TON of books and picture frames that I could get out of the shed to display if we can get some built! Plus his parents are coming for Thanksgiving and I want the room to look good and organized.

He helped but let me do most of the cutting and I got to paint the entire thing, the paint color is called Candy Corn. We have had it for a few months from painting some adirondack chairs that he built, it just so happened to be around Halloween that I put it in my office.

Here are some pictures of us building it:

Accident Waiting to Happen...

That's me...

This past Wednesday I wasn't feeling great and I hadn't slept good all week so I decided to stay home from work. I got some sleep that morning and woke up feeling a little better. We had planned on having a hard sale on Saturday so I wanted to get a few things done inside because I knew Saturday we would be busy.

Well I had some curtains from Ikea that I wanted to hang over my kitchen window so I got the fabric down from the linen closet and I ironed them and hemed the sides because I didn't need them to be huge and I wanted two panels instead of one. Well after I got the sides done I wanted to hang them on the curtain rod and hang them in the kitchen window to see how much I needed to hem the bottom.

So I pulled one of our dining room benches over to the kitchen sink because it was either that or a rolling computer chair and I thought hmmm I am home alone a rolling computer chair is not smart. So I climbed up on the bench with the curtains and hung them up and marked how much I needed to hem them.

Once I was down I got the curtains off the rod and went to step down, and when I did the bench slipped out from under me and before I knew it I was on the ground.

It's been four days and I am still very sore. Below are some pictures that are not for the faint of heart! If you are squeamish and blood makes you freak out do not look at the pictures!!

Making Picture Frames

A few weekends ago we decided to make frames to go around the Alarm control panel and the AC control panel. I think they turned out great!

At first it took a few cuts for Chris to figure out which way to turn the wood to get it to cut the edges the correct way.

Here are some pictures: (I don't have the finished pictures yet)

That is me!

I have a bunch of stuff to post about but I have to upload the pictures and I am being lazy! Hopefully tomorrow I will get them all posted! :)

Next month is Christmas!! YAY!!!

Thursday, October 20, 2011

I know I promised pictures of our weekend projects but I haven't gotten around to uploading them to the computer.

Anyways I wanted to talk about Christmas! Christmas is my MOST FAVORITE time of year! Yall are probably saying um Megan it's only October and trust me I know!!! We only have 65 days left!!

I love everything about the holiday from the meaning to the togetherness to the way people are nicer that time of year. In the past 8 or 9 years our family traditions have changed and I still really miss the old days but creating new traditions can be fun as well.

Last year we had the whole family over to our house and we hosted Christmas and man let me tell you that was a LOT of work! It also felt strange not being at Aunt Tammy's house.

Anyways I am getting away from what I wanted to talk about in the first place... Decorating!! If you know me you know how much I love decorating for EVERY Holiday! :) Last year was the first year in our house and we decorated the outside with lights and the inside we had decorations and a real tree that was so very pretty with pink and blue decorations. This year I want to do pink and orange decorations!

Also I decorate at work and for the past 5 years I have been the only one in my section to decorate BUT this year a co worker and I have an AWESOME plan to win the contest this year. We need BIG boxes from a refrigerator maybe something like that and we need several so if you or someone you know has any boxes that they want taken off of their hands PLEASE let me know! :)

Just thinking about Christmas makes me so very excited!! Remember only 65 days left!

P.S. Spell check isn't working now so I am sorry if this has errors!

Weekend Fun

This past weekend was a good but hot one!

Saturday I hung out with my Mom and some friends. We went to a small town just south of the Georgia state line called Havana for the annual Pumpkin Festival. I like going for the food and all of the booths. This year it was HOT! I mean like 95 degrees hot outside so we were pretty toasty. Last year I remember being there and FREEZING to death, I guess that's what we get for complaining about the cold last year.

For it being a Pumpkin Festival we didn't see very many pumpkins. Which was very strange to us. All Landon wanted to do was see pumpkins and we did see a few but now what we were expecting. (I have some cute pictures of Connor and Landon from Saturday that I will add when I get home.)

After the Pumpkin Festival I went back to Kristina's for a bit, then we went and scooped Boo up to go to a new Mexican place to eat in Panacea. It was really good so if you are ever there I recommend it! It's where the old Hammaknockers was. After dinner we all went back to Kristina and Brandon's and had a fire and made S'mores! They were SO YUMMY and now that I am thinking about them I want some more! :)

Sunday I got up at 7:15...what is wrong with me!! I wasn't able to sleep past 8:00 all weekend. I caught up on my DVR'd shows and waited FOREVER for Boo to wake up. He finally got out of bed at 10:30! Once he was up among the living we decided to go eat lunch at Riverside which is this great but small place to eat on the St. Marks river. It's maybe 5 minutes from our house so we are very spoiled with the beach and river being so close.

After lunch we rode into Woodville to go to the Ace Hardware there. (Word to the wise, the one in Woodville is TOTALLY worth the extra drive from Crawfordville they are so much NICER and helpful in Woodville!) Chris wanted to get a few things and also get some lumber for us to make some things that we had been talking about which will be all detailed out in the next post!

We got home and got right to work in the back yard on building and painting our projects. It was a very hot but fun day. It would have been even better with some fall like weather. Today it is all rainy and the weatherman says that tomorrow and the next few days are going to have lows in the 30's and highs in the 70's and that sounds just about perfect to me!

I hope you all are having a great week! :)

In need of a pedicure!

So last night as Boo and I were getting ready for bed my feet touched him under the covers... I admit I have one foot that is a little rough on the bottom and I need a pedicure! Well Chris freaks out and says that him and another person are going to give me a pedicure because I need one THAT bad.

I ask him who the other person is and he says "A PRIEST with Holy Water because that is the ONLY thing that is going to cure that demon foot!"

It was so funny I think I got abs from laughing! :)

After we were done cracking up I told him I was going to have to blog that and so I drafted an e-mail to myself so that I wouldn't forget. The e-mail said "Feet, Holy Water, Priest, Demon, NEED PEDICURE!!" LOL I need to get better at taking notes for the blog!

So all that to say if anyone wants to send me a gift certificate for a pedicure I won't be offended!

It's almost Friday, have a great day!

Deer Adventures

Boo and I were talking the other day about how we can't believe we have lived in our house for over a year and we were talking about our road and the empty lots one house down from us...

Every night last fall and winter we got deer in the lot one house down from us and these deer were very brave! At night if we had the windows open you could see them walking up the road in front of our house, one night Boo got up to use the little boys room and we had the window open and he heard a deer right outside the bathroom window!!

Anyways all of that to say that one night I was driving home down our road slowly (I can't stand people that fly down our gravel/dirt road) and I saw a few deer pop up in the empty lot so I slowed down to almost a crawl and when they didn't seem to want to come into the road I started going again and something must have spooked them because they all started running right at my car! I stopped really quickly and they all missed me but the last one...he ran right INTO my car!

My car wasn't messed up you could just see where he wiped the dust off! Needless to say I have been extra cautious since then and no other deers have run into me! :)

I know that I took a picture of the clean spot where it hit me but I can't find it anywhere!!! If I find it I will add it later.

I hope you all are having a great week.

First Date

My first date with Boo was the same day as the wasn't technically a date but just go with it....

After we all got done at the river I headed home to take a shower and just relax because I was so tired from being in the sun all day. No sooner do I get home and take a shower does Ne'Shoni call me and tell me that Chris wants me to call him. I told her that I don't call boys lol that they call me. Ne'Shoni said that he wants to hang out but I told her I wasn't really comfortable hanging with him alone just yet, so she invited us over for dinner. She told me to stop being old fashioned and to just call him, so she gave me his number and she told me to call her as soon as I got off the phone with him.

It took me like 10 minutes to get up the nerve to call him...but I finally called him and he asked if I wanted to come over and hang out with him at his house. I told him that Ne'Shoni invited me over to eat dinner and that he was more than welcome to come along with me. Chris said ok that sounds good I will see you when you get here.

Well I lived at the time in Wacissa like 40 minutes from town so I told him it would be a little while before I got there. On the way to his house I was so nervous lol I felt like a 12 year old! I finally got there and went up stairs to get him and I will never forget climbing those stairs I felt like my legs were jello!! So I knock and he anwsers and man oh man his cologne smelled SO YUMMY it is by far one of my favorite smells! I told him that he smelled good and I asked him what it was, he said "Tommy Bahama", I had no clue what that was and just nodded my head. He got his hat and wallet and was ready so we headed out. He offered to drive, and at the time he had a Navigator...I had never been in one and felt out of place once I got in.

Chris then turns on his music that he loves, which is rap...I have nothing against rap I really like it, it just took me off guard. I was thinking to myself man I am in a Navigator listening to rap music LOL we just talked on the way to Ne'Shoni's and after a stop at Publix we were finally there and I felt a little better being around other people that I knew. But I couldn't shake the Butterflies that were in my tummy. I couldn't even eat! I lied to everyone and said I had already eaten but I hadn't I just had so many butterflies! :)

We hung out at Ne'Shoni's for a few hours then it was time to leave! Once we got back to his house he asked if I wanted to come up and hang out with him and his roommate. I said sure but only for a little bit because it was already late and I had a long drive back home.

Long story short I ended up hanging out with Chris and Kelly until 2 in the morning...I couldn't believe that time had passed so fast. Once I realized what time it was I told them that I had to go and Chris walked me to my car which I wasn't expecting but I thought it was so sweet. As I was about to get in my car he gave me the fastest peck ever! LOL :) But I wouldn't trade that first kiss for anything.

How I met my Boo - Part Two

…Fast forward to June 14, 2009.

A group of us wanted to go tubing down the Wakulla River to celebrate Ne’Shoni and Sean getting married.

I didn't know who all was going tubing with us; I was just excited to spend a whole day on the river in the sun. I lived way closer than everyone so I got there first and as I was waiting Ne'Shoni called…the following was our conversation:

Ne’Shoni: “So…Chris asked about you!”

Me: (playing dumb) “Who?”

Ne’Shoni: “You know, the guy from dinner that called us c*** blockers...”

Me: (still playing dumb) “Ummm…No I don’t remember him. Anyways what’s up?”

Ne’Shoni: “Well…he is coming today. He asked me if you were coming tubing with us.”

Me: (doing the excited girl dance in my car) “Ohhh Ok cool. Was he the guy that was on the date with that quite girl?”

Ne’Shoni: “Yep! I heard that they broke up!”

Me: (trying to act calm...) “Ok, that’s cool. I will see yall soon.”

Long story short I was SOOOOO excited about seeing and talking with Chris! Finally they all got there and I said hey to everyone but I really didn't speak to Chris I was nervous! :)

We all got going down the river, and FINALLY Chris talked to me lol he had Mason on the float with him (Mason is a friends son) and he was telling Mason to throw sea weed on me.... I was throwing it right back! :) At one point on the river Ne'Shoni called him out and was like "Are you flirting with Megan?" LOL he looked a little nervous and was like NOOO she is flirting with me! (I like to think it was the sea weed that made me fall in love…lol)

…first date up next!

How I met my Boo - Part One

It was May 29, 2009 and some of my friends and I were going to dinner and then bowling. Ne'Shoni's husband Sean worked for a local Apartment Complex and he invited some of his friends from there. We all met at the Apartment Complex and I just stayed in the car with the girls while Sean went to get everyone and I was watching the stairs when I noticed this guy.

I asked Ne'Shoni who the “guy” was and she said "Oh that's Chris!" I was thinking man he is cute…then she burst my bubble. She told me that he was dating a girl, that was also coming to dinner with us. I was bummed but I didn't let that stop me from having a good time that night.

We all went to dinner and I was sitting at one end of the table and he was at the other end, and I was talking with my friends and we all thought that Chris looked familiar, we just couldn't figure out where we knew him from. Finally the smokers went to smoke so there was only like 5 of us left at the table and Ne'Shoni told Chris to come talk to us.

He came down to talk to us, and told us we were "C*** Blocking" LOL we all just laughed and said yeah that's what we do best! Anyway we never figured out where we knew him from but Amanda did, she knew him from where she used to work.

(I have to tell you now that Chris was totally joking with us when he said that, and also I felt so bad for him because his date was so quiet and she didn't talk the ENTIRE night)

After dinner we all went across the street bowling, Chris ended up on a lane alone with his date, and Sean’s cousin. I again felt bad for him because he looked so bored!! I didn't talk to him the rest of the night; I knew he was off limits! :) be continued
